About the artist
Seizan Mimura was a Kano painter and print designer active during the mid-19th century. Working in Edo, he studied under Seisen'in Yasunobu Kano. He worked for Lord Sanada of Matsuhiro and is best known for his landscapes, kacho-ga (bird and flower prints) and portraits. Though his birth date is unknown, it is known that he died in 1858.
