About the artist
Ma Li is a contemporary Chinese print artist best known for his mountainous landscapes. In his words, "Mountains are for me like a book of life." Born in Yunnan Province in 1958, Ma is an artist of the Yunnan Art School and has exhibited his reduction woodblock prints internationally since 1986. Ma Li has received many awards, including the Silver Prize at the China Print Exhibition in both 2000 and 2002. He teaches at Simao University in Yunnan.
